I find that meetings in companies tend to follow Parkinson's Law on work. There will as much meetings as time allows.

Allowing a meeting free day a week or only allowing meetings during the mornings or afternoons will allow the same amount of output from less meetings.

We will just become more efficient at using our time and more importantly waste less of other peoples time.
